Julio Cesar Barreto is a distinguished Argentine pianist, composer, arranger, and producer, renowned for his versatility and a rich history of high-profile collaborations.

His work spans a wide range of musical genres and iconic performances, having worked alongside industry giants such as Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, T.I. (Tip) Harris, Paquito D’Rivera, Jadakiss, David Phelps, Griogair (from Netflix's Outlander), Antwan "Amadeus" Thompson, Timothy Miller, Chloë Agnew (Celtic Woman), Angélique Kidjo, and major ensembles including the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, and Sons of Serendip.

Julio’s orchestration and arranging talents have also reached the Broadway stage, where he collaborated with notable performers like Mandy Gonzalez (Hamilton, Sunset Boulevard, Wicked, In the Heights), Hugh Panaro (Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd), and Capathia Jenkins (Newsies, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me).

A classically trained pianist, Julio studied under Graciela Reca and earned his degree from Universidad Nacional del Litoral before receiving the prestigious Herbie Hancock Celebrity Scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music. There, he trained under Susan Rogers (Prince), Sean Slade (Radiohead), and David Bendeth (Paramore), earning degrees in Arranging, Orchestration, and Music Production.

Since relocating to the U.S., Julio has captivated audiences as a solo artist and ensemble member, performing nationwide. His expertise has been sought by institutions such as Jacksonville State University, University of North Texas, Gadsden State, Texas Christian University, and the Omaha Conservatory of Music.

He has conducted masterclasses for the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy and served as Director of Music Education at the Oxford Performing Arts Center and Artist-in-Residence for the Atlanta Pops Orchestra.

In 2022, Julio founded the Rubato International Piano Competition, sponsored by Steinway & Sons, which quickly gained prominence as a premier piano competition in the southeastern U.S., offering an innovative platform that combines both classical and jazz music for young talents.

Julio remains an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).

Julio's career is a testament to his world-class artistry, driven by an unwavering passion for music that transcends cultural and geographic boundaries. His contributions continue to inspire and nurture future generations of musicians, making a profound impact on the global music community.
